Course Content

This course is designed to provide a balance of scientific knowledge, practical skills and industry insight, supporting your development as a graduate ready for a career in the animal sector. Throughout the programme you will develop a comprehensive understanding of animal anatomy and physiology, welfare assessment, health, nutrition, training and behaviour and evolution and ecology. Alongside this you will undertake research methods and professional practice, culminating in an independent research project in your final year focused on a specialist topic of your choice.

The course supports both practically driven students and those with a strong academic focus, enabling progression into industry, research or further study. Designed to enhance employability, the course includes a compulsory industry placement and a tailored teaching module that develops students’ confidence and skills in engaging a variety of audiences.

GCSE Grade 4 or above in English, Maths and Biology or Double Science.
